Google Sheets Integration
Our free chatbot and API allow you to integrate your Google Sheets data by pre-authorizing your Google Sheets account, and then allowing you to select the Google Sheets that you want to use for your knowledge base.
Authorizing Access
To get started, you'll need to pre-authorize Locusive's system to access your Google Sheets account. You can do this by going to your Integrations page and connecting your Google Sheets account, which will require you to sign in to your Google account and grant access to Locusive's system.
Adding A New Sheet
Once you've authorized our system, you can select the Google Sheets that you'd like to add to your knowledge base directly from the Google Sheets integration details page on the Locusive website. When you select a new sheet, you'll need to select the tab from the Sheet that you'd like to use as part of your knowledge base. Our system will also ask you a few optional questions to help us understand the contents of your sheet for more accurate retrieval later. You don't need to fill out those fields, but if you leave them blank, our system may be less accurate in retrieving answers from the contents of your sheet.
Refreshing Data
Our system will automatically check for updates on a nightly basis, and if your sheet has been updated, it will re-read the entire contents of the sheet and add them back to our system. Please note that this will incur a paid call to OpenAI's embeddings model. Learn more about how we use your OpenAI API keys

Limitations
- At the moment, our system only supports adding a single tab from a Google Sheet, and you can only add a Google Sheet once, which means you cannot add multiple tabs from the same sheet. We're aware of the issue and are looking into a fix. One potential workaround is to create a new Google Sheet file and add your data to that file. We know this is a hassle and apologize for the issue.
- Due to technical constraints, you can't add Google Sheets from the Slackbot via the /add command, you can only add new sheets from the website.
